Eris Exchange’s crypto venture has expanded its leadership and hired industry veteran Matt Trudeau to lead the company’s strategy.
Trudeau has been appointed chief strategy officer at ErisX, responsible for developing the direction of the firm and establishing new initiatives working alongside the executive team. He will help ErisX identify new revenue opportunities and drive the company’s market structure efforts.
Having helped 10 major financial institutions in the early days of their launch, including Instinet, Chi-X, IEX and Tradewind, Trudeau has vast experience building technology businesses. He also has expertise in regulated financial markets, market structure, trading technology and electronic exchanges.
“ErisX is a needed evolution to the way individuals and institutions trade digital assets and I am pleased to be a part of this initiative,” Trudeau commented. “Offering spot and regulated futures contracts on one platform, ErisX is pioneering a solution that connects digital and traditional asset classes.”
ErisX recently gained backing from Fidelity Investment and Nasdaq in the form of a $27.5 million investment as part of a Series B funding round. The firm said at the time that with backing from such authoritative firms, the exchange’s position in the market has been cemented, as it looks to provide a fair and transparent digital asset trading platform.
“We welcome Matt to the team and look forward to leveraging his experience working in digital assets, disruptive technology and regulated environments,” added Thomas Chippas, CEO of ErisX. “We are confident in the team we are building and the skill set they bring to the table to enhance trading in the digital asset space.”
